Workplace Woes: Scavengers Among Us is the first in a series of films, all based on true “horror” stories from the modern day workplace. In the first installment, someone has been eating Danny’s lunch and she will stop at nothing to apprehend the culprit. Is she ready to uncover the uncomfortable truth of her office? Workplace Woes: Scavengers Among Us has been officially selected and screened at 5 film festivals on both the East and West Coasts of the United States. It won Best Ensemble in a Short Film at the Chain NYC Film Festival 2017.
The film was written, directed, and produced by Michael Pizzano. In 2013, Michael wrote and directed My Little Bubbles, a horror comedy about survival, betrayal and a man-eating Pomeranian. He also co-produced a web series, The Show, and collaborates on many other projects. Prior to bringing his own stories to the screen, Michael worked freelance in commercial production. Before all of this, he was a student Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and LaGuardia School of Arts and Performing Arts in NYC.
Lindsay Stein (producer, casting director) is a reporter, specializing in advertising, consumer marketing, communications, and business. When she’s not writing – or training for obstacle course runs – she’s working on personal projects, including film production. Prior to Workplace, Lindsay helped produce and cast My Little Bubbles.
Matt Pizzano (producer, director of photography) started his film in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he began by shooting short films and learning from the region’s most creative directors. When he returned to NYC, he directed music videos for bands such Lucius and Push Method, which have aired on Fuse and MTV and have won awards at several festivals including the Los Angeles Music Video Festival and Willifest. In 2016, Matt’s short documentary Becoming Bradley Theodore was screened at the TriBeCa Film Festival.
Alex Covington (lead) is a NYC based actress originally from Los Angeles, California. She is also a professionally trained singer and voice over artist and has appeared in multiple musical theater productions such as HAIR, Spring Awakening and Murder at the Food Coop (2016 NY Fringe Festival Favorite). She has recorded high profile VO commercials such as , Inbox by Gmail and Optimum Cable. She is currently training at The Upright Citizens Brigade in Improv and Sketch.
