“The Gift of the Magpie” to screen at Burbank International Film Festival

Burbank, CA – The Gift of the Magpie, a short film by Anita George will screen at the Burbank International Film Festival. The film will screen as part of the Shorts by Women selection at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. The Burbank International Film Festival runs from September 6th through September 10th 2017 at the AMC 16 in Downtown Burbank. Tickets for the screening may be purchased on the Festival website.

The Gift of the Magpie follows a couple of small-time grifters who see an easy mark in an elderly carousel operator and her blind daughter on Christmas Eve, 1934. The film stars Helen Slayton-Hughes (Parks and Recreation’s Ethel Beavers), Milton Severe, Pamela Forrest, and Adam Osterhaus.
