San Fernando Valley, CA – Gina Rodriguez is a certified hypnotherapist, EFT practitioner, and coach. She specializes in providing personalized therapy programs via her hypnosis and coaching business, LyfeHypnosis, through which she helps her clients get out of their own way by identifying and releasing fears and limiting beliefs. Gina shares some valuable information about the hypnotherapy following a car accident.
Sharing her knowledge about the impact of car accidents to the human body, Gina says that the mind and body of a car accident survivor goes into a state of shock after the accident. That shock is then followed by the fight/flight mechanism. A new neuro-pathway is immediately created with an emotion and reaction programmed to the experience. She says that some people may go on living life without being affected but others, including children, may be impacted by all the sounds, smells, feeling, sights, and behaviors that accompanied the traumatic event they were involved in.
Gina further says that since a new neuro pathway could have been created, a new behavior or reaction is developed in car accident survivors as well. Gina stresses on the importance to address the trauma to eliminate unwanted reactions while driving that could potentially result in another accident. She says, “Following an accident you want to be able to get back behind the wheel as confident as you once were. Imagine not being able to drive again or even get in a car again because you fear the possibility of another accident.”
According to Gina, therapy in any modality, whether psychology, counseling or hypnotherapy, requires time. For some people the therapy can go a lot faster and get the results they want sooner and for others it is a process of taking baby steps. Either way is okay as therapy sessions are tailored to the client’s unique needs.
Gina also informs that a variety of techniques in combination with hypnosis are used to help overcome the shock created by the impact on both the physical and mental condition of the survivor. Techniques such as EFT (Tapping) or NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) help to address the emotional reaction that comes up with the memory of the trauma.
