Omnitechnical Builds Data Warehouse for Tracking Physician Performance

March 14, 2018

Glendale, CA – OmniTechnical, a Glendale-based custom IT-solutions provider, has built a data warehouse for one of the largest healthcare organizations in the U.S. The data warehouse has been implemented with cutting edge business intelligence tools from Oracle. It possesses the ability to track physician performance in all operational areas within the organization such as tracking how effectively they are using hospital resources, how effective is their treatment for patients. Furthermore, the data warehouse also collects data on patients feedback, how much training physicians underwent to stay up to date with latest technologies.

Before this business intelligence solution was implemented, the organization faced a lot of constraints accessing data and had to go to various different systems in order to collect data to compile and analyze. The company required a quick turnaround on analyzing data to take critical business decisions but was not able to do that with the manual data collection and analysis functionality it possessed. By the time data was collected and analyzed, business had already changed and thus the old manual solution was not working anymore.

To resolve this critical issue, OmniTechnical built and implemented an end to end fully automated business intelligence, data warehousing solution to collect and analyze data from many different computer systems. This solution has been built on industry standard business intelligence tools and is easily upgradeable. It can be expanded easily in the future to handle increased data volume in a cost effective way. OmniTechnical also built dashboards to display near real time data of physician’s performance. Role based reports and dashboards that display appropriate data for senior management, middle management and all the way up to individual physician were also built as part of the system. The solution works in a way that the data is collected, aggregated and loaded into data warehouse continuously so that the data remains fresh and up to date. OmniTechnical was able to deliver such a complex solution on time and under budget and also trained their IT resources to maintain and expand it on their own for the future needs.

The business intelligence system enables the organization’s management to take quick business decisions and they don’t need to wait weeks or months to collect and analyze data. Data obtained is already aggregated, analyzed and ready for consumption in near real time on dashboards. The new solution has succeeded in saving a lot of time and resources in meeting the organization’s IT needs.

OmniTechnical has provided clients excellent custom solutions for their IT needs since 1999. OmniTechnical has provided solutions across industries and business units, including performance tracking, HR management, business analytics, eProcurement, and online commerce.
