Family Promise of the Verdugos Announces 3rd Annual Gala

February 2, 2017

Glendale, CA – Family Promise of the Verdugos has announced their 3rd annual gala, “Take Flight to End Homelessness” will be held on Saturday, April 15th 2017 at the newly renovated Grand Central Air Terminal in Glendale, CA. The event will raise funds to support Family Promise’s work to combat homelessness in our communities, and will honor several individuals and groups who have made a difference in the lives of those Family Promise served.

Family Promise of the Verdugos (FPV) is a 90 day shelter for homeless families with children. The program has been in existence since 2010 and have served over 250 households since. In 2016, the organization was awarded the 2016 Nonprofit of the Year award for the entire 25th Senate District. In 2016 alone, FPV supported 39 households with 96% of those households securing housing within 62 days of starting our program.

“Family Promise is changing lives of families who are on the cusp of falling into the chronic homeless population. We are truly making an impact of capturing these families in our ‘safety net’ before their situations worsens. We hope to have the support of many of our communities members at our 3rd annual gala,” said FPV Board President, Renee Johnson.

The gala will consists of a silent auction, live auction, dinner, entertainment, and more. All proceeds raised for the event will be utilized to fund the FPV program which provides 90 days of shelter, meals, counseling, job development, and financial literacy support for homeless families with children.
