Burbank Pa Kua Opens Registration for Self Defense Course

October 12, 2017

Burbank, CA – Burbank Pa Kua has opened up registration for its Realtor Self-Defense Course. The camp starts on October 17th, 2017, 9:30AM – 11:00 AM. A free trial class is available on October 12th, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, which will be hosted by the Burbank Association of Realtors.

The Realtor Self-Defense Course is an 8-week long course that is specifically designed for realtors or anyone who regularly has to go into a stranger’s home or empty houses, that may potentially expose them to a dangerous situation. In course, participants will be able to learn vital self defense concepts. The program also trains the participants in prevention, awareness, and assertiveness to practice self-defense techniques and use of the common tools for self-defense like pen, clipboard, or cell phone – along with anything else a realtor may carry with him on a day to day basis while visiting houses.

Master Kyle Billingsley, owner and head instructor of Burbank Pa Kua, felt that there was a need to inform and help keep the local realtors safe from danger after he was invited to speak on self defense at the Burbank Association of Realtors. “5% of realtors report sexual assault, robbery, or violent crimes in their carrier. We have around 720 realtors in Burbank, so that’s more than 35 of them,” said Master Kyle Billingsley, “I want to teach those realtors safe behaviors and what to look for to protect themselves and then to get out of bad situations safely.”

Burbank Pa Kua opened in early 2016, and offers a range of martial arts, health, and wellness classes. They also run an after-school program for children in the Burbank and Glendale area. For more information, and to register, visit the Burbank Pa Kua website.
