Woodland Hills, CA – The United Chambers of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley and Region celebrated their 40th anniversary on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at the Woodland Hills Country Club. The event included the installation of the United Chambers of Commerce’s Board of Directors for the coming year, as well as honoring several dedicated members of the region’s many local Chambers. Los Angeles City Controller Ron Galperin served as the installing officer for the 2017 Board of Directors. Congressman Brad Sherman delivered remarks, and presented honors to the outgoing Chairman of the Board, Les Himes.
In addition to the installation of officers, Sherry Keowen was recognized as the Board Member of the Year. Marsha Laskey received the Tami Ginsburg Celebration of Service Award, in recognition of her years of dedicated volunteerism to organizations across the San Fernando Valley. United Chambers Executive Director, Marian Jocz, was recognized for her 7 years of service to the organization.
The following individuals were recognized for diligent service to their respective Chambers of Commerce: Diana Duenas, Florine Goodman, Pam Kissel, Karen Lebens, Ruth Logan, Sual Mejia, Rhoda Minger, Emma Moreno, Vicki Nussbuam, Mary Ann Omega, Rowena Parades, Stephanie Schwinn, Dorothy Stringer, Esther Walker, Diana Williams, and Eddie Gonzalez.
The United Chambers of the San Fernando Valley and Region is a coalition of 32 business organizations including 18 Member Chambers, representing over 21,000 businesses that provide over 387,000 jobs. United Chambers deals with Valley-wide, County-wide and Regional issues and promotes the San Fernando Valley’s overall welfare, progress and economic prosperity.
